The aging power distribution system for a major integrated steel mill experienced substantial downtime as a result of inconsistent paper-based inspections and manual follow-up procedures for maintenance. In order to improve performance of maintenance work and ensure identified deficiencies were quickly addressed, a mobile-first solution was needed that could track work progress, integrate with their ERP, and automatically initiate necessary follow-up work.
Solution
OpsReady partnered with the power distribution team to implement a mobile solution to manage preventative maintenance schedules and generate detailed tasks and reminders for > 200 substations with thousands of sub-assets. Recorded values are compared to ‘normal’ values, auto-generating deficiencies, and seamlessly integrating with Oracle. Management has perfect visibility into task completion and outstanding follow-ups and spends less time managing the work.
